High energy efficiency in buildings is key to the energy transition concept. e-coFACE is a pioneering element in the development of façade insulation.

Whilst contemporary buildings become progressively more complex high-tech constructions, accordingly, the requirements of façades are becoming increasingly demanding. In order to accommodate these advancements, we have developed a new façade system, e-coFACE, which we have also patented.

This thermally improved system is characterised by its exceedingly slim construction. It is an example of a society in which technology can go hand-in-hand with climate friendliness and extensive energy saving.

This new, high-performance insulation technology has a number of outstanding properties; chief amongst them is the system’s overall classification of “A2-s1,d0” according to BS EN 13501, which complies with the English Building Regulation for any type or size of building.

e-coFACE represents a completely new approach to energy efficiency and fire protection for architects and façade designers. It can be used for both new buildings and renovations. Thanks to the diverse combinations of insulation and external material layers possible, the units can be adapted to suit the project-specific goals with regard to both insulation requirements and aesthetics.


Best Thermal Performance with a reduced system depth

The high-performance facade system e-coFACE enables Thermal Transmittance Values (Ucw) of 0.4 to 0.5 W / m²K - with a system depth of only 90 mm. This extremely slim construction depth allows for additional functional floor space within the same building boundaries.


Sound Insulation

Thanks to the combination of different materials for the insulation and external covering layers, the e-coFACE elements achieve sound insulation values up to 49 dB. This performance is generally over and above the standard projects requirements.


Pollutant-free, durable and recyclable

The materials used to manufacture the e-coFACE façade meet the requirements of environmental labels such as DGNB, LEED or BREEAM. Thanks to sorting and separation technologies, each material can be recycled or reused once the product service life is over. The main material Calostat is Cradle to Cradle Certified.


Excellent reaction to fire

The e-coFACE panels are tested and classified with a rating of “A2-s1,d0” according to BS EN 13501-1. This means that the façade system is suitable for high-rise buildings in England of any type or size including buildings above 18 m. This was verified by the Technical University of Braunschweig (Technische Universität Braunschweig) Material Testing Lab for the construction industry as well as with a National technical approval (Allgemeine bauaufsichtliche Zulassung).


Water repellent, diffusion-open and frost-resistant

Pressure tests in the climatic chamber demonstrate that the panel construction allows for outward diffusion whilst ensuring no residual moisture or condensation becomes trapped between the individual layers. The materials are water repellent, ensuring a long service life for the panel.


Design flexibility

e-coFACE panels can be designed with a variety of outside materials. This choice is only restricted in the event that the materials would jeopardise any of the performance requirements of the product. Additional features are also possible, such as the installation of photovoltaic elements.
